Changing Your Attorney to Hire Us
People often come to our firm in the middle of a divorce to change attorneys. Courts do not cast aspersions against parties that change attorneys. On the contrary, courts are most always receptive to the new attorney’s arguments. Nothing says you are unhappy like changing your attorney.
If the case is not going your way or simply if you are not clicking or feeling comfortable with your attorney, change your attorney to the undersigned firm. We handle more divorces than your current attorney does, no matter who that attorney is.
Based on the amount of cases that we receive on a yearly basis, it is safe to say we receive 15 percent of our cases from other attorneys who have not made their clients happy.
If your attorney is not returning your call, discharge your attorney and hire the undersigned firm.
We have a policy—all calls are returned on the same day.
That means if you are calling our lawyers and they are not returning your calls, they will be fired. Our policy is zero tolerance. We have the staff and the resources to attend to your personal needs and to prosecute or defend your matter to your satisfaction. We are aggressive, and we have the experience to handle your matter.
How easy is it to change attorneys?
Simply come to our office, and we will do the following:
- Contact your prior attorney
- Get the balance of any unearned fees from your prior attorney sent to you
- Have your file delivered to us
We will not take your case unless you pay our minimum retainer (as low as $2,000.00). However, we try to obtain a refund of any funds that your prior attorney owes you. We get the file directly from your prior attorney so you do not have to speak to them again. We contact the court and the adversary. There is nothing for you to do, but come to our office and sign the Consent to Change Attorney form. We make it a smooth transition for all.
What about your prior attorney?
Prior attorneys are rarely upset about a client’s decision to change attorneys. It is a business. It is a personal choice. The prior attorney (whoever he or she is) has already heard of this firm and hopefully, it will not make or break that attorney to have you transfer your case. If that attorney is not making you happy, if the attorney is not returning your calls, and if you are not being given the attention you deserve, change attorneys now.
